Between Iraq and a Hard Place
Narcycist is a Iraqi/Canadian (I think) rapper who has released as part of his crew, Euphretes, but also a mixtape as himself, Stuck Between Iraq And A Hard Place. The mixtape is pretty much end to end brilliance, tight flows over a variety of original and borrowed beats. The best part is the intepretations of some classics, such as biggie’s 10 Crack Commandments flipped to 10 Iraq Commandments, Straight Outta Basrah and a load others. Probably my favourite full length track is the version of Nas’ One Love, but for 53 seconds of brilliance you can’t get better than his reworking of Big L’s Ebonics, into Arabonics:
