Technically not about telly

For people that haven’t watched Heroes (and you should, Adrian Pasdar Profits all over the place) this post contains a spoiler that a) there is a character called Mohinder b) he, for at least part of the series, drives a taxi and c) his dad is dead.

There are several Heroes mini-comics up on the Heroes webpage (or listed on the ‘pedia), and they are intended to tell little bits of backstory – or so I’m told. The first issue features the thrilling story of Mohinder getting his job driving a taxi. This basically involves Mo’ going to his father’s former employer, a taxi company, who then ask him if he’d like a job. He says… OK.

On the art front, things have come off pretty well, other than the slightly bizzare choice to make Chandra Suresh, Mohinder’s dad, look like Clint Howard rather than they guy that actually played him,  Erick Avari*. The artist got Mohinder right, so I can only assume they hadn’t quite cast anyone at the time, but still, Clint is never the right guess.

Anyway, can I interest anyone in a Nissan Versa?

* Who can, and does, play literally any vaguely arabian/indian/foreign looking nationality.

Erick Avari is used as a generic jonny foreigner, which makes you think these casting companies are either very un educated, lazy or racist.
However the rest of the casting is really impressive! In fact it’s one of the most impressive things about the show ;)

To be fair, the casting companies may be uneducated, lazy or racist, or they may just all owe erick avari money.
The casting is pretty good though, even the kids don’t totally suck, which is an achievement in itself!
