CSI vs Bus

Stella (not a horse)Horse faced CSI: New York number two Stella Bonasera continues to irritate me. Last night’s episode (3×12, Silent Night) featured Montana freaking out a bit and leaving a crime scene. Stella responded by asking, in a concerned way, what was wrong. When Montana rejected her proffered hand of friendship, Stella did the professional thing and had some sort of passive aggresive freakout, involving threats of dismissal.

My current rating scheme for characters on television shows is based around the percentage of their screen time where I’m actively hoping for them to get hit by a bus (or, if on an ice rink as in last night’s CSI, a Zamboni). For comparison, George and Meredith from soapy medical dramedy Grey’s Anatomy run at a steady 80%+, but Stella is a pushing for a perfect 100, with only the occasional point deducted when she’s a) shooting someone, b) erm, c) that’s about it. However, when she reconciled with Montana later in the episode she bust the scale WIDE OPEN by using the word “kiddo”, at which point her rating hit 200%, as I actively was hoping for both a bus AND a zamboni to spontaneously crash through the walls of the crime lab.
