Ubisoft Can’t Stop Lying
To be fair, it’s not just Ubi but the boxes of console games in general. The box for Rainbow 6 Vegas tells you it has 2-4 xbox live co-op, 2-4 co-op and 2-16 system link. What is means by that is that for off line play it has 2-2 split screen co-op and 2-4 system link, which involves having 4 xbox 360s. Why they couldn’t just say 2 player split screen I don’t know, it just makes it irritating as you scour the manual for how to do 4 player. Honestly, never ever buy a game for coop until you have checked online that it actually can do co-op, and that it is in fact the same game at all (cough Ghost Recon: Advanced Ripoff).
The 2 player isn’t too bad, but they haven’t included some of the story linking bits, so you sort of have to have played the single player first. Still, I’m sure I’ll buy the next ubi game with half arsed co-op, as that’s better than no co-op at all, but I’d certainly recommend Gears of War over this one by miles, it’s 2 player co-op, but it’s really nice 2 player co-op.
