Lost The Plot
POSSIBLE LOST SEASON 2 EP 8 SPOILERS BELOW - AND A PICTURE OF JACK LOOKING CONFUSED
I think the Lost writers have trouble ending episodes. After the high quality use of the Same Cliffhanger for two consecutive episodes when Desmond had a gun to Locke’s head, last night (episode eight) saw the second week in a row of stretching out one minute of telly into about five minutes of run time thanks to copious amounts of slo-mo. The script must have been a thriller: JACK looks at ANA-LUCIA. ANA-LUCIA looks at JACK. Rinse, repeat.
They also made use of an incredibly boring Ana-Lucia-Was-A-Cop flashback. I don’t know whether it was good writing, a good performance, or both, but Michelle Rodriguez had managed to convey pretty much all the information in the flashback before we actually got to it (the numerous heavy handed references to children being excluded from the “good writing” category of course). You know things are going poorly when you’re hoping that they cut back to people playing golf.
